Every week, our phone rings with some version of the same question: “Is the class offered in Spanish?”
It’s a fair question, and an honest one — and it deserves an honest answer instead of a sales pitch that dances around it. So here it is.
The straight answer
Our live class is taught in English. The Illinois broker licensing exam you’ll sit for is given in English, so we teach the class the same way you’ll be tested — in English, covering the same material, in the same order you’ll see it on exam day. That’s the whole reason. It’s not a policy we’re attached to; it’s how we make sure the class actually prepares you for the exam in front of you.
We know that’s not the answer every caller is hoping for. So here’s the part that matters more: not speaking English as your first language doesn’t mean you’re on your own, and it doesn’t mean one live class session is your only shot at understanding something.
What every student gets — whether English is your first language or your third
Two things come with every enrollment, and together they solve the exact problem a live-only class would leave you with.
The Online Homestudy video course. Miss a class, or need to hear a chapter again because it didn’t stick the first time? You can go back and watch that specific chapter in the Homestudy library, as many times as you need. Didn’t catch a term the first time? Rewind it. Want to hear a concept explained twice before it clicks? Watch it twice — or five times. You’re not stuck with whatever you absorbed in the room the first time through; you can go back over exactly the chapter you need, on your own schedule.
A full year of access. This isn’t just a year of video-only access — it’s a year where you can come back and sit in on live classes with Art again, as many times as you want. If you want to go through the whole course a second time live, in real time, asking questions as they come up, you can. Most students never need to use it. If you do, it’s already included.
Why this actually works in your favor
A single live class session asks you to catch everything the first time, in real time, with no way back. That’s a hard bar for anyone — English as a first language or not. What we’ve built instead is repetition and review, on your terms: hear it in class, then go back over the parts that need a second (or third) pass, at your own speed, in your own space.
That’s not a workaround. For a lot of our students, it’s the reason the material actually sticks.
Who’s teaching it
Every ILRES class is taught personally by Art Bettuzzi — not a rotating pool of instructors, not a recorded video from a few years back.
